Moss Edward (Ed) Magers, 79 years old, crossed safely into home on June 14, 2024, in Carbondale, IL, after one grand slam of a life.
Ed was born March 26, 1945, in Paxton, IL, to Robert and Evelyn Carlon Magers. He grew up in Rankin, where he excelled in sports for the Rankin Rangers.
Following graduation, he embarked on a career with GTE. This career spanned 35 years and would take him to Paxton, Jacksonville, Carbondale, Bloomington, (where he met the love of his life Theresa). They eloped on Dec 4, 1985. And finally the last stop before his 1999 retirement in Irving, Tx. They moved back to Carbondale in 2013 to their beloved lake home.
Ed and Theresa enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage, travel, spending time at their lakeside home, taking in winters on South Padre Island, feeding hummingbirds, and stopping at every "Hysterical" Marker on every two-lane road.
